”We will fight for that right to free protest. We will fight for democracy in the UK.” – Chris Packham.

Defend Our Juries and the Free Political Prisoners campaign are calling on concerned groups and individuals to join us at the Royal Courts of Justice on January 29th & 30th at the mass-appeal of 16 political prisoners.

This is a defining moment for exposing corruption in UK lawmaking. Every organisation, campaign group and individual who supports this democratic right is affected by the outcome of this appeal, whatever their cause. This is The People vs The Corporate State.

The 16 received a combined 41 years in prison for peaceful protest in the UK, sparking international outrage and criticism from the United Nations over breaches of human rights. A 17th individual, Xavier Gonzales-Trimmer would have also been an appellant. He remains with us as a crucial part of the story.

THE PLAN – There will be a vigil and rally from 9am each day. Supporting groups will be at the courts until at least mid-afternoon with solidarity events, speeches, and entertainment. On Jan 30th at midday, Defend Our Juries will hold a peaceful Exhibition Action on the road for 90minutes. Full details of the action can be found in our action briefing doc.
